Vertex takes delivery of brand new DMGMori CNC Machines!

Vertex has recently expanded, leasing the adjoining unit at their site to house the new machines, bringing the size of the site in Birmingham to over 1000sqm. New huge roller shutter doors were installed and concrete bases for the new machines were laid before finally knocking through into the existing facility.

Autocraft Co-owner Mike Morgan sealed the deal at the MACH show on the huge DMGMori DMF260|11 travelling column 5-axis VMC and a CTX 3-axis turning centre for the toolroom in Hockley, Birmingham. The DMF260|11 VMC has a centre partition for pendulum loading, to keep the spindle working flat out 24/7! It also hosts a massive 3.2m long table with integrated rotary table, and a huge Y-axis travel of 1.1m.

In  addition to the machining centre, the DMGMori CTX CNC turning centre adds a new dimension to the capabilities at Vertex, with its driven tool turret for both 2- and 3-axis turning.
